Seattle Aiki Club

Seattle Aiki Club (SAC) is dedicated to preservingand exploring Daito-Ryu and Aiki. We are a direct, lineal branch of Takumakai.img_0875

What is Takumakai?
Takumakai is one of the largest jujutsu organizations with more than 40 dojo in Japan, Europe, Australia, and the United States. Takumakai is based in the Kansai area of Japan.

We practice Daito-Ryu Aiki-Jujutsu
Daito-Ryu is a philosophical martial art that challenges preconceived notions about movement and force. Daito-Ryu employs a wide range of throwing, pinning, disarming and joint-immobilizing techniques. The use of Aiki, or internal energy harmonized with breathing and mechanical advantage, distinguishes Daito-Ryu from other jujutsu.

Classes are taught by Kenneth Freeman, who is a 4th dan, on Sunday from 12-2pm.  As the class grows, more times will become available.
