Hina Matsuri (雛祭り) is celebrated in Japan every year on March 3rd. It is very common for families with daughters to have a display of dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians all adorned with traditional court dress of the Heian period (794-1185 AD).
While a traditional Hina set may have more than five platforms, Hosekibako has been fortunate to have a variety of decorative pieces for the holiday. These range from dolls made from fabric or other medium to entire tea sets dedicated to Hina Matsuri. Stop by Hosekibako this weekend to see what you can find!
